Want to reduce the impact of your energy price increase?

There is no doubt that we are in for a price increase on our energy bill. And most of us want to reduce the impact as much as possible.

Servicing your boiler is guaranteed to help.

Efficient boilers use less energy. A well working boiler will ensure that the soot build up stays low, meaning that your boiler can smoothly perform to its highest standard. A gas safe registered engineer must do your boiler servicing, or your insurance won’t cover it. Keeping your boiler annually serviced will make sure that your warranty is validated. Unforeseen problems can be covered with the warranty of your boiler. However, your warranty may be invalidated if it your boiler is regularly serviced. Costs incurred to mend your boiler could be put towards your energy bill.

Save Money on Unwanted Repairs

During boiler servicing, Your gas safe engineer will check to ensure any parts are not worn or likely to break down. Over time, these small jobs can become more significant, and don’t forget the prices increase with the size of the job! In the winter, we rely very much on our boilers, meaning we will be paying more for our gas, too – not the time for extra bills. Boilers left without servicing for extended periods may even be irreparable. A replacement boiler would have to be bought, which would be very expensive.

Nothing Lasts Forever

Many contemporary boilers run very efficiently and reduce the energy used to heat your home or water for your family. Boilers have a life span – it’s usually 15 years. Over time (like us!), your boiler won’t perform as well as it once did. Regular servicing will help with this. However, you might need to consider a replacement boiler. Acting before a boiler breaks down can reduce costs. Read here for independent gas boiler reviews. Although it seems like an expensive way to start the winter, your savings over time from replacing your boiler would be worth it. Consider calculating the reduction in your energy bills your new boiler would save you over the next 15 years.

Every Little Helps

There are a few minor changes you can make to help out too. Dig out those woollies and turn down the thermostat. Reducing your heating temperature by just a couple of degrees will save money on your gas bill. You can also lower the water temperature; ask yourself do you add cold water too when using the hot. Maybe your temperature could be set lower, therefore, reducing the costs of your energy. Though it might sound odd, we often forget that our lovely insulated houses will hold the heat we pour into them. Setting the heating to come on later or go off earlier can also reduce costs. We all set the heating to come on at the same time every day regardless of the weather or how warm our home was earlier.

Finally, don’t forget to turn off radiators in unused rooms. Keep doors closed to keep heat in and talk to Adam if you are unsure what else you could do.
